We can no longer afford to live as we have. In the past, companies squandered natural resources on a daily basis, but now consumers are demanding more sustainable products and the demand for greener options has brought about change.
Today, quite a few companies are investing in sustainable practices. They’re reducing their consumption of resources, operating with less waste and increasing the efficiency of their operations. While we aren’t there yet, some businesses are already well on their way to having a positive impact on their communities and the world around them while making a profit at the same time!
Sustainable brands are guided by a sense of social responsibility and a focus on the long term. They don’t just focus on their bottom line, they recognize that they need to do good and do well—by protecting the environment and the people their business touches.
Whether you’re a novice on the green scene or an experienced eco-expert, these brands are definitely ones to follow. Here are 20 brands that I’ve found recently and will share more with you in the future.

They have kept 200,000 items out of the landfill by re-selling them, providing them to solidarity partners for distribution, or recycling them. They also invest part of their revenue in a scholarship fund for primary and secondary school students. And 60% of their staff are people who might otherwise face barriers to employment.

The brands I’ve covered demonstrate that businesses don’t need to compromise on profitability, products and services in order to sustain the environment.
They don’t compromise on their social responsibility in pursuit of profits.
It’s important to get everyone on board with the same ideas, and getting businesses to buy into the idea that it’s possible for a them to act responsibly.
I would like also to point out that you as a consumer have power. You have the power to make your money count, the power to create change, and the power to support those companies that share your values.
To that end, i encourage you to follow in the footsteps of these brands and decide for yourself what it means to be an ethical consumer.
Share with me in comments if you know of any other ethical brands. I’d love to learn about more them.
See you for the next buzz
